Girona y Besalu

AIFS took us on a day trip to Girona y Besalu (two beautiful Roman cities not too far from Barcelona)

Not too much explaining in this post; just lots and lots of beautiful pictures!

We first went to the town of Besalu to see the Jewish baths and have a little time to enrich ourselves in a new area of Cataluna (since that is where we live, too) Cataluna is the province Barcelona is located in- it also wants to succeed from Spain at the moment so I have seen lots of protest, symbols, and verbal altercations about this topic. In Besalu and Girona the Catalan pride seemed to be even stronger than in Barcelona.
Besalu:

BEST BREAD EVER! Kelcey and I bought a loaf to split!

Girona:
El Leone de Girona: Legend says that if you kiss the lions butt, you’ll be in good graces with the cities residents and it’s a fortune that you are always welcomed back in the city, granting that you’ll return someday. So, naturally, I did! :)

Girona is known for having their own facade- snails! You can see the swirls from their shells
